Celebrating 40 Years with a Purpose


As we celebrate our 40th anniversary, we are more dedicated than ever to supporting local charities and organizations that make a real difference. We are excited to announce that our chosen charities for the year 2024/2025 are RNLI Girvan, Diabetes UK, and Ayrshire Cancer Support. These causes resonate deeply with many of our colleagues and clients, and we are proud to stand behind them.


Girvan Lifeboat


Girvan RNLI: Girvan Lifeboat Station is a volunteer-led service dedicated to saving lives at sea. RNLI Girvan not only conducts rescues but also engages in community education about sea safety, helping to prevent accidents before they happen. Their dedication ensures the safety of mariners, fishermen, and coastal visitors, making our seas and shores safer for everyone.


Last year we were delighted to presents RNLI Girvan Lifeboat with a £1,000 donation following a Will promotion run by our Girvan Office. Partner, Debbie Dunlop and Melissa MacAskill are pictured with Lifeboat crewman/ Treasurer John Tait and crewman Nathan Tait.


Ayrshire Cancer Support

Ayrshire Cancer Support


Ayrshire Cancer Support: For over 40 years, Ayrshire Cancer Support has provided essential services to cancer patients and their families throughout Ayrshire. They offer free patient transport to and from hospitals, ensuring access to treatment regardless of location or personal circumstances. In addition, they provide emotional support through counselling, therapy, and various support groups, allowing patients and their families to navigate the challenges of a cancer diagnosis with compassion and care.

Diabetes UK

Diabetes UK


Diabetes UK: As the UK's leading charity for people affected by diabetes, Diabetes UK supports over 4.3 million individuals living with the condition. They fund pioneering research into better treatments and a potential cure, provide invaluable resources and information for managing diabetes, and campaign for the rights of those affected. Their work is instrumental in raising awareness, improving care standards, and supporting those navigating the complexities of diabetes, whether Type 1, Type 2, or gestational.

Supporting Ayrshire Baby Loss Support for 2021/22


The McKinstry Company is proud to announce that we will be supporting Ayrshire Baby Loss Support (ABLS) for 2021/22. ABSL offers support to anyone affected by the loss of a baby at any stage. Their support comes in various forms including meetings, online support, and telephone support. The committee, who have all experienced baby loss themselves, have been supporting and fundraising to help bereaved parents for more than three decades. This is a voluntary organisation that is close in the hearts of the team and something we are really looking forward to fundraising for.

Whiteley’s Retreat


The McKinstry Company’s charity of the year for 2020/21 is Whiteley’s Retreat. Whiteley’s Retreat provides free therapeutic short breaks for children, young people and their families with cancer and life altering illnesses. In February, the firm ran a free Wills promotion, asking customers to donate £50 to the charity and they would receive a Will for free. This raised a whopping £10,000!!! Team members also participated in a “Walk to Berlin” walking over 1200 miles and raising an amazing £3500 for Whiteley’s.

Ayrshire Hospice logo

The Ayrshire Hospice


In October 2021, The McKinstry Company will be running free Wills for Ayrshire Hospice. The Ayrshire Hospice are committed to reaching and improving the lives of those affected by life-limiting illness in Ayrshire by delivering exceptional care. Their vital work helps people to live as actively as they can to the end of their lives, they are dedicated to making today matter.

The firm has became one of the kit sponsors for Girvan FC. The two-year deal, covering seasons 2021/22 and 2022/23, will see The McKinstry Company logo on the back of the Home strip and on the front of the Away kit, as well as being displayed on the club’s tracksuits, training kits and rain jackets.



The kit will be worn in all the club's West of Scotland League, Scottish FA Cup, South of Scotland Cup and friendly matches.

The McKinstry Company was delighted to be a sponsor of the Worldwide Cancer Research fundraiser in memory of Kevin Williamson on Friday 13th August. A wonderful lunch at was held at Trump Turnberry which included a Q&A session with rugby legend David Sole, which was followed by the “The Young Pretenders” taking on “the Veterans” for the “Kevin Williamson Cup” at Millbrae.



Our very own Colin Duck played for “The Veterans” who secured a last-minute victory… with a bit of assistance from the referee. It was a great day out for a very worthwhile cause.

Orkney Drugs Dog logo

Orkney Drugs Dog aim to contribute to the reduction of the supply of controlled substances coming in to Orkney by the provision of trained drugs dogs, helping to prevent access to harmful substances for the health benefit of the people of Orkney and neighbouring local authority areas.


The McKinstry Company ran a free Wills promotion with a £50 donation to the Orkney Drugs Dog over the months of June and July. Raising a total of X getting the charity closer to funding another pup.
