MCKINSTRY TEAM

The McKinstry Company is here for YOU

June 26, 2020

The McKinstry Company understand that life has been difficult over the past few months - clients, colleagues and everyone in the community have been impacted in some way.

Much of life as we knew it was paused, but as life starts to return to normal we appreciate that our clients will continue to require our trusted support and guidance just as they have done so over the past 35 years.

That’s why we’re providing an array of appointment options to clients to ensure everyone has access to our services when they need it most.

While we are unable to meet clients face to face, for the moment, we have in place a number of options to consult with you by phone, video conference or using our new Artificial Intelligence tools which we shall shortly be launching on our website.

The Family Law and Private Client teams have collaborated with leading legal software company, Settify, to become one of the first law firms in Scotland to provide a customised AI platform for initial instruction and helpful information on Family Law matters and Wills.

Free to access on The McKinstry Company website, Settify covers all areas of family law, from pre-nuptial or cohabitation agreements through to separations or complicated divorce cases and can be accessed 24/7. This pathway to instructing our Family Law team and gaining useful advice will be a huge benefit to clients. The Wills section also affords clients a new way of considering how they will arrange their affairs going forward and providing initial instruction to our Private Client team.

Robert Honeyman, Managing Partner at The McKinstry Company said: “We are always here for our clients and available to provide advice when needed. We can do this by telephone, video conference and with Settify for Family Law and Wills.”

Edward Kirk, the UK Head of Settify, said: “It is important for solicitors to meet clients where they wish to be met, particularly given the current situation. We are therefore delighted that The McKinstry Company are able to offer this intuitive tool to enable their clients to commence their Will or Family Law matter online, at a time and place of their choosing.”

For the time being, you may not be able to visit a solicitor at The McKinstry Company, but when you can all of the arrangements are in place so that the offices are ready for clients.

The McKinstry Company understand that although it’s refreshing to use AI, Zoom or other video conference, they recognise the importance of still meeting with your trusted adviser in person to cement the relationship between solicitor and client.

“During lockdown we have worked hard to reconstruct the layout and facilities in the office so when all of our staff and clients are able to return, they’re able to do so in a safe manner,” added Robert.

“The substantial investment we have made in recent years in our reception and meeting room areas, I.T., and providing disability friendly access ensures that when clients are able to come to see us, they can do so to an office where they will feel comfortable and safe.”

We just want you to know that we’ll be here.

When you need us.

When your business needs us.

And when your family needs us.
